Admin Pick - Comment of the Month

The comment of the month goes to VenomQuill for their comment here and their continued support in aiding the artist with their artwork. VenomQuill has gone above and beyond in putting a lot of great references in the comment itself. These expand on the many points of consideration to present a comment that is helpful in many different ways.

How Am I Supposed to Get Back at You?!    Currently, Stanford stood flat against the wall, trying vainly to step back when there was no ability to do so. The room, stone and carved with ancient symbols, closed in around him. Before him, his twenty-eight-year-old best friend stood, blue eyes narrowed, and a golden gun with a blue light bulb muzzle in his hands. His small, circular glasses glinted in the light of the bulb and the red sheet of glass acting as a blast shield hid most of his face.
The flickering blue light caused by the bulb sent weird lights and shadows over the carved walls, smooth floors, and the clothes and faces of the two men. Stanford, his glasses flashing in the light and causing him to narrow his eyes, let out a small wheeze. “Wh-why?”
“Why?” echoed the blonde man, his eyes going wide before narrowing again. “Why? You’re askin’ me WHY?!” his voice raised to a bark. The gun s
It was February 14th...It was February fourteenth, and everyone knew what the paper meant.
Whole cities went from gray to pink. Flowers bloomed, slain, and were then bundled. People walked in pairs, fingers intertwined, lips upturned. Sometimes, kids would run around their feet. A few people did not, but often they had a companion of some sort–whether that be a human friend, sibling, or a pet.
I walked alone.
On a normal day, this fact would be mildly overlooked. “She’s just not social.” “She’s probably going home.” “School let out late today, I think?” A few people would show concern, but not many. Today, these questions went unasked. Those who normally thought them were too busy with another person to allow these questions to bother thinking them. No, they were too busy to bother with me. That was fine, I need not be bothered. I disliked being bothered, in fact.
I stopped by a pole and pressed a button. “Stop!” bellowed the pole in response.
The Twelve That Was Supposed to be a Ten    Sunlight flickered in through the smudged windows, lighting up the cool interior, sending light over the colors of poorly made artwork, and setting the hair of a dozen little kids and their teacher aglow. Kids giggled and chattered as they swarmed their seats. A pair of twins sat near the front. Rather, a twin took his brother and pulled him to the front so that they could sit together closer to the teacher. The teacher shushed the kids as she moved to the front of the room, her arms full of large, colorful papers.
“Okay, children! Eyes up here!” she trilled as she arrived at the front board. The children’s conversations ended and a dozen sets of eyes stared up at her. She pulled out a sheet of paper filled with a rather large, black number one. “One.”
“One!” many of the children parroted. Stanley didn’t pay attention to the teacher. Instead, he paid attention to Stan

We would like to thank everyone who has given a constructive comment in the past month. It takes time, effort and more, but every constructive comment you make helps a member of DeviantArt, a fellow artist who may or may not be in a similar position to you. We hope that the artist will pass on the kindness and give a constructive comment to another member. Without your comment, we may not be able to hope at all.

Thanks so much for the shoutout. It's a shame anatomy didn't garner too much attention. I wish I had had the time to comment on more works. It's such a relevant topic for critique.
