Make a Difference #169

Artists join deviantART to share their art and appreciate others. Due to the many artists out there, it's easy to get towed under and generally obscured from the public.

Make a Difference aims to do exactly that. This series of articles will hopefully make a difference to you as well as the artists featured weekly. Just by giving one minute of your time to write constructive comments, favourites and even watches will make a difference to these artists.


Many of SushiDesigns' photographs are wonderfully done HDRs, the effect made really prominent and profound in how everything is executed. It is fantastic to see another perspective to things where there is such great, elevated detail overall.

Rhyming is brilliant in Lucy-Merriman' poetry, the phrasing and flow working together to produce pieces potent in impact. The prose, too, is also great in how it seems to tackle really intense issues in a creative light.

~ An extract from Seducing the Muse
"i slurred, a finger on my derringer
trigger; to turn the stallion to a steed,
i braced myself to face storms' harbinger."

you complicate.
one minute you create
constellation revelations,
fill me up with exultations,
call you and me an island nation--
two souls in a jar
in the sand by the sea--
you say, "that's you and me.
watching the world through glass and sand
in here  we free from reprimand."

the lies between your
poetry
i'll rise above your
poetry
too wise to catch your
poetry

There is no simplicity.

now everything is syncopated
nothing's ever contemplated
everything's on fire
the burning never dissipated
every touch-spark
every scratch-mark
every star-blink
never stop-think:
spill all our love over the edge
heels over head
this white-hot undulating
never fading
silver-bladed
love.
in the heat
the glass
begins to crack.
you turn your back.

perhaps this is belated
but I've always hated
the dimple on your chin
like a ugly crater on a bone-dry moon

"They began so simply. Post-it notes appearing, on the mirror, the microwave, his laptop--places post-it notes ought to be, of course. Just, not saying things they ought to say. Cryptic lines like, "the girl has no nose," and "I will kill the man who shat in my left shoe" and "be wary of fish.""

shows a brilliant consistency in style between both digital art and traditional art, the difference really minimal between the two, as shown below. Colours are lovely and the detail magnificent as accuracy is shown in these pieces.
