"I love how you portrayed Storm, as the great goddess she is, sneering at Jean hurting herself - which is also a great way to introduce a third party, very skillfully done! You introduced every one subtle, but so well enough in description that -as someone who knows the comics- you have no problem knowing who they are, even though you didn't even mention Jean Grey's name at all!
I liked the paragraphing, too, just the right amount of happening and text in each paragraph that the whole thing was very easy and fluidly to read! And the formatting with the flashbacks in italics is great, too!
My favourite part was by far the end - with the most powerful sentence as one of the last, it really leaves you with a tingling, scared, but excited feeling - which is awesome and so skillfully done! Even that you sooth our fear of Ororo by telling us that her heart is, indeed, tormented, leaving us to pity her for a little more, is very awesome.[...]"

"The palette in this piece is very organic, yet also very rich. The very subtle colour temperature contrasts - especially the warm red lipstick against the crimson lips, and the two-hue blue on the curtain highs/shadows (if my eyes aren't deceiving me) - make the image take on a wonderful visual depth while not distracting with chroma-clutter. I'm also loving the detail on the lips, the back shoulder shadow, and the almost plastic way the hair is painted. It looks like actual glossed curly hair, not the spaghetti/flat thing most people would have going on up there. The eyes are superbly emotive, and the colour they have is brilliant, clear, and really stands out since the only similar hue I'm seeing is an undertone in the hair.[...]"

"I think you did a great job of creating a focal point on the flower. The darkened background and vignetting lend a lot weight to the title of this piece. It really feels like that flower is struggling to extract itself from that darkness!
I think you could make this image even better by cropping it to change the composition. Right now, the flower is pretty much dead in the center and the stalk almost perfectly aligned with the diagonal of the image. The other flowers and stalks in the background break the symmetry a bit, but the composition still feels somewhat stiff to me.
A good way to avoid that is to think in terms of negative space when you take the shot: don't focus only on the subject (flower and stalk) but also how you can use the subject to "cut" varied negative shapes in the background. [...]"

BotheredDisclaimer: I do not own the X-Men. I make no profit from this work of fiction.
This is based in the comics universe, not the films. It is, however, a bit AU.

His arm was around her shoulders, her head laying on him as she leaned into his larger frame. Her left side rose with her breath, falling as she exhaled in a long, soft sigh. Red hair falling in waves down to the middle of her back looked far too elegant for the simple picnic outing. They brushed along the middle slat of the bench the couple sat on as the breeze began to pick up, several strands getting caught in the nicks in the wood. As the woman leaned forward to gather her hair together, the pieces that had been trapped ripped and snapped, pulling the skin of her tender scalp mercilessly as they were quickly separated from her.
Their observer smiled, a dark, malevolent grin that gave her an air of being the terrifying goddess she had once been called. Her mood had abruptly changed

Magic Week - Reverse Caption
The power flowed into him, filling his lungs, spreading out in his blood like oxygen, and settling into the marrow of his bones. He felt himself smile in a way that he hadn't since he was a boy learning to cast his first spell. He had devoted decades to the study of magic, but now, now he was magic. A glow lit the trees around him. He couldn't be sure if it was the setting sun, or if the glow came from his own skin. A beetle crawled on the ground nearby, seemingly unconcerned with what it had just witnessed, but yet its movements were in time with his heartbeat. A bird in the sky flapped its wings to the same rhythm. A breeze plucked at his hair and clothes. He began to dance, slowly at first; he followed the wind, and the wind followed him. He moved faster, twirling and leaping, until even the fallen leaves were dancing around him. When he stopped, all was still. He smiled again, and raised his arms to the sky. The first stars were visible. He watched them for a long
