ProjectComment is a Group of many projects centred around comments, but, more importantly, constructive comments. We offer Members of deviantART a lot of opportunities to get comments, give comments, participate in comment projects, win points, get featured and much, much more!

Every two weeks, we will be interviewing commenters and volunteers at ProjectComment, specifically revolving around their life on deviantART and, the purpose of ProjectComment, constructive comments.

We sincerely hope you enjoy reading the sixty-sixth interview of this series with MummyWriter!

Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Abigail and I write just a little bit. I'm the queen of run-on sentences. I'll be going into 11th grade at the close of the summer and I live by the beach. My life revolves around my various favorite bands, my best friend Beth, and my cats (O'Malley and Faith). I love to sing and act and I generally think I dress pretty good. I'm interested in archaeology and astronomy.

Why are you on deviantART?
I joined DeviantART after a friend of mine (GirRox211) directed me to her page and I wanted to comment on one of her drawings. I started upload a lot of (for lack of a better word) junk. Pictures I took 5+ years before, horrible sketches, elementary scribbles done in MS paint, and FanFiction. Eventually, another friend of mine (AvisTheArtistGeek) whom I had been writing with since I was in seventh grade suggested I upload my poetry. One thing led to another and I found out about the lovely literature community here on DeviantART!

What do "constructive" comments mean to you?
To me, constructive comments are those which are genuinely directed at improving someone/something. These comments are not presented in a rude way, but rather like a suggestion. If it is blatantly offensive, it's no longer considered constructive.

SepiaSepia
The hue of my favorite photo of us that I keep by my nightstand
The dominant shade in your irises & beauty mark at the lower left corner of your mouth
The ink tone I've used to fill countless pages with poetry about you, about us
The echo of every hello and goodbye that resonates within the walls of my heart
The cacophony in my gut wrecking my towering pride, in exchange for your builder's arms, every time
The timbre of your voice promising to be the first and last thing I'll be hearing til my heart stops beating
The bittersweet cocoa kisses and tangy citrus grins that only the two of us will remember
The blandness of my tears on your petal tongue as you reach mine, planting my feet firmly on your good earth
The savory taste of our palms and our navels whenever the warmth of our beings meet
The downy feel of your old corduroy pants that you wore on our fourth date and first kiss
The smoothness of the milk and molasses blending in our morning coffees and afternoon teas
The roughne
Not enoughIt's not the wrong words
Or the mistake you've made
It's the lies you tell to me
When you try to hide the truth
How could I ever trust you
When the one I love the most
Smiles, tells everything is fine
While whole world is falling apart
And the look on your face
When I wasn't what you excepted
I shattered your beautiful dream
Turned it into cold reality
As I couldn't fullfill your wish
Oh how I hate myself
I'm never enough for you
I cannot change inner me
Nor the emotions I have
I'm beautiful no more
Your love has withered
Was it only for my looks
Did you care after all
You won't admit it to me
From your eyes I see the truth
I was near perfect to you
But never perfect enough

Do you do a lot of commenting in your spare time?
I love to comment! I personally love receiving comments so I think it's important for others to enjoy that feeling too. Also, as an artist I know that sometimes all you really need is a little encouragement. It's amazing to see how a positive comment can shed light on a dark day. Also I think it helps both the artist and me to comment and critique because I may learn something new or the artist may see something they would not otherwise have noticed.

Do you prefer constructive comments or critiques and why?
I like receiving both, but I prefer to receive critiques as well as write critiques. Even if I don't completely agree with a critique made on my work, it still helps me improve. Maybe they didn't like the message of my piece. But that's the whole point! I think as I begin to type out a response. But just maybe, that indicates that my message wasn't clear enough, and I need to revise. One way or another, It's beneficial.

A Letter to my FatherFather,
Today, It has been nine months and nineteen days since I left. Three thousand kilometers of distance. This is the longest period of time that we have been apart. I miss you, I remember you all the time.  Suddenly,  I remember things I did not think about  before, suddenly  they all keep jumping in my face, so many memories, some warm, some cold, some tough, and some just beautiful.
Do you know that I can remember the days you were teaching me the Arabic alphabet and the French Alphabet.  Whenever  we have a guest, I run to them and start shouting " A,B,C,D,E,F......." They smile and ask me who thaught you all this, I run to you, I hug you and I say " Dad taught me".
You took me to the beach, you taught me how to love it, this is why now  the beach is where I find my soul, where my heart feels at home, where I feel  a very strong sense of belonging I dont quite understand. We went to
The SirenThere was a dead body on Sandie's back porch, and it was trying to get in.
She wrung the coffee out of the front of her shirt, made damn sure that all of her doors and windows were locked, and called Mike.
"Mike."
"Yeah? Sandie? That you?"
"You don't know anything about this, do you?"
"About what?"
"The zombie."
"Come again?"
"Mike, there's a zombie on my back porch. It's leaving smears on the glass door. Is it yours?"
"I... Could you repeat that?"
"Zombie, Mike. It's a dead body in a puddle of nasty, and it's leaving more nasty on my door. God, I can even smell it. This is one thorough job, man."
She edged away from the door, keeping an eye on the intruder beyond the glass. It was bloated and purple with decay, green and black fungus speckling its face. There was fluid coming out of its mouth and dripping from its nose. It had no eyes, and all indication of sex or age had rotted away.
"Robotic, maybe? One of its legs is about to fall off. You didn't sic one of your Cyber Derby friends

Do you use a specific technique when commenting or...?
Generally, no. I comment whatever I feel at the time.

What has been the most interesting experience for you, here on dA?
I feel conceited choosing this, but the most interesting thing to happen to me was getting a Daily Deviation in April 2012. I thought it was a mistake because I was in a hotel at the time and I was sure the wifi was malfunctioning when I saw the 200+ messages in my message center!

Do you currently have any ongoing projects on deviantART or in real life?
I've been keeping a journal with me to write down interesting things I see. I always thought my phone would do for jotting down little notes, but really nothing compares to the feeling of sitting in the midst of a busy crowd and pulling out a notebook and pen. It's like being entirely removed yet still being present.

Can you give artists any advice in how to be more known?
The best way to get more noticed is to make friends with people who work in a similar medium. If you're a writer, find other writers. If you're a painter, find other painters. If you're a knitter, find other knitters! It's a lot of fun too. Another way to get noticed is to join groups and submit things to them.

Finally, is there anything else you would like to add?
Thanks a lot for letting me be interviewed and I'd love to hear from some of you readers!

:boogie: Thank you MummyWriter! :boogie:
