Project Comment - December Newsletter

Our second edition of reviewing things that have happened in the previous month and what we have planned for you all this month! As always, we will be showcasing the most active and constructive commenters of our projects, and announcing the second commenter to receive our comment award!

November Highlights

Mythiril launched our first Comment Wars, designed to bring you quality feedback. The first round received amazing comments from Kaotic-Cass, Alexandxr, professorwagstaff, KokoKiero, taibossigai, Ellofayne, RyugaSSJ3 and sciencevsart! Everyone who commented will receive one constructive comment themselves, so what are you waiting for? Join Comment Wars #2 and let the games begin!

We managed to hit 6,000 watchers at the end of November! Many thanks to everyone who is putting out words about the group. Word of mouth is a powerful thing, and one that we fully appreciate!

Comment Outreach - Raise Awareness + Contest!

In October, we asked you to help raise awareness! You can do so by using the following emoticons...

Project Comment Award

Huge congratulations to apples-ishness, an awesome member who has been commenting with us for a while! Adél provides constant support in our Commenter System by giving others the opportunity to contact her for comments. Targeted Commenting
Check out Targeted Commenting, the sole purpose of which is to accommodate you when commenting on the deviations that you would like guaranteed and constructive comments on. We strive to make our comments much more driven and focused for you in this project, so go check it out!

Comment Tag
Artists, why not try Comment Tag? It is a game where every comment given is a comment received, and we always welcome new (and seasoned) players!

Chat Events
Chat Events have been great! The last one hosted by DTKinetic provided a good experience, even though the turnout could have been better. We welcome you all to join our chat events. If you are hesitant, let us know and we would be happy to talk you through our events!

If anyone is available to host a chat event, we are always open for more people hosting! If you are interested, just let us know by sending us a note.

More Exposure
We have just posted our fifth edition of More Exposure, where we showcase the works that deserve more exposure! If you have some free time, spread the comment love. If not, feel free to submit your own pieces to the folder here. Submissions are flowing in nicely - the enthusiasm is great! Now, it's time to see more active commenters on the featured deviations.

December - What to Expect?

New article series! We are planning some workshop-type editorials on commenting to help you in your commenting!

We are also focusing on the improvement that you can gain from giving comments and getting comments!

If you have any suggestions or thoughts for either of those ideas, let us know!

A Tip and Final Word!

Not sure what to write or how to help the artist? With a little extra time on your hands, you can scan the last five pieces or so from their gallery and look for common mistakes or settings to lure them out of their comfort zone a bit! ~ Felizias

It takes time, effort and more, but every constructive comment you make helps a member of DeviantArt, a fellow artist who may or may not be in a similar position to you.
