A Man of HalvesIt has been months now.~ An extract from A Man of Halves
Months, and I am glad you are gone.
Yet, a part of me wishes you remained.
I am a man of halves.
In the middle of the night, I wake,
and your scent lingers in the air.
I find it hard to remember the fights.
Your lies.
Only the cold, cruel knowledge:
your hand shall not grace my cheek again.
I spend my waking moments at war with myself
fighting to conquer the loss - or my escape - of you.
Your things still litter around my house.
Trinkets I cannot bear to throw away.
My poems of love for you line the walls of my heart.
I cannot bear to burn them.
You were heartless,
so you took mine.
"I find it hard to remember the fights.
Your lies.
Only the cold, cruel knowledge:"

Problems With the World TodayAll around me life is filled with vacancies~ An extract from Problems With the World Today
music dominated by wannabe Eminems and Morrisseys
Precognition tells me television is doomed to the ABC's,
the CNN, the Warner Bros, and the NBCs.
They're all that I can see.

Faceless masks determined to take a salary -
Expand their treasuries.
These modern day problems in a modern day world
It's hard to keep a focus when your fists are curled.
Keeping hold of pesos, nickles and dimes.
Paying all your worldly bills and all of life's fines.
Nothing means nothing to a modern man,
And your morals tell you to do what you can
if you can, when you can.
But, for

PopDad told me, today, that we wear the same deoderant.~ An extract from Pop
It made me feel like I know you a little better.
I've been told I look a little like you, too,
and that me and Dad both have your eyes.
Isn't that funny?
We have your name, too - me and Dad - William.
I like it.
My cousins call you Pop.
My only memory of you is trapped in a photograph on my shelf
and the night you left.
I wish I had known you.
I wonder what you did when you were my age.
Most of the family don't talk about you but I wish they would.
Sometimes it's like they've forgotten.
I used to sit in your chair and pretend I was you.
I wish you had stayed, so I could say I
"We have your name, too - me and Dad - William.
I like it.
My cousins call you Pop."

What makes it effective is the fact that you only present 3 people... so our attention is focused and doesn't drift from one thing to another.
I'm glad! Thanks for your support!
