Hello everyone!

Alongside Kaz-D, I am open to suggestions for Daily Deviations from the Photography Gallery in the following sub-galleries only:

:bulletblue: Commercial
:bulletblue: Fireworks
:bulletblue: Humorous
:bulletblue: Macro
:bulletblue: Miscellaneous
:bulletblue: People & Portraits [Only Classic Portraits, Emotive Portraits, Expressive, Infants and Children, Miscellaneous, Self-Portraits, Spontaneous Portraits, Weddings]
:bulletblue: Still Life
:bulletblue: Transportation

...basically any Photography sub-gallery without a Community Volunteer attached! :la:

FAQ #61: What is a Daily Deviation?

Tips & Hints

:bulletblue: I like to take into account the Daily Deviations received in the photographer's past. Because of this, I am more inclined to feature those that have not already received a Daily Deviation in 2012, or have less than 3 Daily Deviations.

:bulletblue: I like things to be natural where photography is concerned, so most effects should be simple and minimal, such as increasing the brightness, saturation, contrast, etc. I probably won't accept photographs that have been overly post-processed or adjusted so that it is obvious it has had a fair bit of work done in a digital program.

:bulletblue: Fantastic execution is a good thing to keep in mind. Photographs should be focused, crisp, sharp in detail and really portray the subject matter to the best of abilities. The composition and framing should be fitting so that there isn't a lot of negative space.

:bulletblue: Hence, I like vivid photographs with lots of colour. It doesn't have to be overly bright or overly dark, or even overly colourful, but it should have something that really stands out, that has a huge visual impact and makes you think, "Wow."

:bulletblue: As a result of the above point, originality certainly doesn't hurt! Whether that is originality in execution or concept or even the visual aspect of things. A photograph shouldn't be simple, though. It should have had a bit of thought put into it that separates this particular photograph from the crowd of photographs out there.

:bulletblue: I'm not fond of silhouettes or photographs taken where we can't see much of the main subject matter. Likewise, photographs that are overexposed or underexposed probably won't be featured.

Guidelines

:pointr: Before suggesting, please take note that...

:bulletblue: Deviants are active on deviantART.
:bulletblue: Deviants have not received a Daily Deviation in the past 6 months.
:bulletblue: Deviation is from the Photography Gallery only, and only from the sub-galleries mentioned above!

:bulletblue: Self-suggestions are welcome!
:bulletblue: It's better if EXIF data is displayed, but fine if not.
:bulletblue: Lesser known or Under-appreciated deviants are preferred.

:pointr: During Suggestion, please take note that...

:bulletblue: Only one photographer to be suggested, per note, to one Community Volunteer/Staff Member.

FAQ #18: Who selects Daily Deviations and how are they chosen?

:bulletblue: Note me with...
  • Subject of the note: DD Suggestion
  • Body of the note:
    • 1. Thumb of suggested deviation (Thumbcode can be found on the right side of the deviation page under Thumb: :thumb#######:)
    • 2. Reason for suggested deviation (Why it receives a Daily Deviation, what is really good about it, etc.) [Optional]
:pointr: After Suggesting, please take note that...

:bulletblue: Many suggestions are welcome! (Must be in separate notes)
:bulletblue: You should receive a reply back within 48 hours.
:bulletblue: If your suggestion is not accepted, please do not be disheartened; I'm always open for more suggestions!

That's it. :la:

If you have any suggestions for (improving) the Photography Gallery, anything photography related in communityrelations that you would like/we could provide for you (features, interviews, contests, news, tutorials, etc.), or even anything Chats & Forums related, please do not hesitate to send me a note!

Likewise, any questions, just ask them here and I'll do my best to answer them.

Thank you!

does fire-spinning count as fireworks? I never know what to categorize it as!

Honestly, I wouldn't put it there myself. It'd either go into Surreal or Miscellaneous for me, though the latter is probably the best category to put it in for fire-spinning.

That's where I ended up putting it because I just couldn't figure out a better/other category. Thanks!

There's no more division between the GMs and MN@ of the CV position, so there is a fair bit of intermingling, I guess you can say. ^^;

Awesome! I'll be looking forward to them. :glomp:
