!The challenge was to show us a thumbnail of the artist's work and tell us a very short story (no more than 100 words total) about how their work came to be. However, they also had to tell us a fantasy version that was in no way realistic. There were so many brilliant entries from so many people that I'd like to mention these people and their responses first.
In no particular order:
Suddenly there came a tapping, as of someone gently rapping - rapping at my chamber door. It turned out to be this butternut squash, and it granted me three wishes - I haven't spent them yet, since I can't really think of anything I want, that I don't already have.
True story: I was directing a music video for the danish rock band 'Clean Boys' ahead of their upcoming China tour. This vegetable eventually turned into their drummer.

I was surrounded by memories, they trapped my heart and mind until a vision, something like a human being, came up to the surface. I barely recognize that figure, the water was too muddy to see clearly, but it, the vision, moved its mouth and said slowly to me: "I am Nemo".
Real version: I was reading a Conrad book, than I though to Verne's "Twenty Thousand League under the Sea" that I've read an year ago and I got the impulse to draw something related to!

realistic: the boy named Seto is stuck in a magic school, and he really wants to return to the normal world and go see Katherine.
Fantasy: I was walking in the dark woods. I'd hear a sound and i'd turned around.
And there it was. A magical creature was looking at me. It stared at me and i'd stared back. Slowly i took up some paper and maked a quick sketch, without looking at the paper. I looked down, and when i looked up the creature was gone.
Real: I was doing this, and then i thought 'i should really practise on bg'. So i tried to make a bg, but i got tired and then i'd only drew that one tree good.

Fantasy: One day I made a drawing, the best I had ever done. It was so magnificent I knew I would gain instant fame and fortune and it would end up hanging in a museum. As a result of my over excitement I accidentally knocked a couple of bottles of paint on top of it. In frantic desperation I tried to wipe the paint off but it just got all smeared around and my masterpiece was lost forever.
Reality: I had a dream where God told me I was showing too much pride and would have to go to level 1 of hell where I would be turned into a toilet. This is what God looked like in the dream.
Fantasy: I woke up one morning feeling funny. When I got to the mirror, I realized I had turned into a bunny. Then a feeling started to grow in me and out popped an egg. I went mad- I went crazy. I soon found myself in an asylum, screaming that I laid eggs. But no one believed me. Then one day I fell asleep, and poof I was in my bed again. But believe me, you MUST, that I had laid chocolate eggs.
True Story: I wanted to draw a bunny that went mad because he laid eggs for Easter.

I was outside one night, and couldn't see a thing even though it was a full moon. A silhouette that was somehow darker than my surroundings appeared and walked towards me. I looked at him suspiciously. There was nobody of his image in this town, let alone on this very street where I knew everyone by name. But he kept walking. I backed up against the wall and he started to run. Just before he crashed into me, he stopped smoothly, bowing down. "Dream peacefully, my friend." And everything went black.
Screen sharing in Skype made this odd creation happen.
"Magical Girl" shows were the reason I kept hoping for small animals to tell me I was special. They had failed to show. I wasn't the Sailor Moon of my own story. I was some generic side character. My therapist told me to draw some therapeutic art pieces to cope with my feelings. I created a magical girl and dropped her from 4,000 feet. Let's see love, friendship, and miniskirts save you now.
Real story: Art contest for a magical girl design. I hate drawing backgrounds so I drew clouds.
Fantasy - This is from the memoir of a friend of mine - who was the beautiful demon queen that rose from the clouds to put an end to the night dragons tyranny.
Real - I was bored in class one day and started doodling and this is what happened - our teacher was so boring I made a nameless OC without even trying. XD

Fantasy: God was cooking his late dinner until all of a sudden, his oven exploded and now there's fire rising up to the sky, and there was no way for him to put out the blaze which stays there for the rest of the night.
Real: As the day came to a close at 6.23pm in March, the sky began to darken and not often do sunsets like these occur, where I was very lucky to observe from my bedroom window and quickly whipped out my camera to capture this moment. At that time, the kids where still out to play until they had to go back home as the sky slowly darkened, and the burning effect starting to fade away.
I drove into town to see different people. And I looked from above and realised they were all the same.
I went to the woods and saw all the ants going in the same direction. And I went to the sea and all the fish were swimming in the same direction. Only one fish swam against the crowd and it was all orange. He was different. So I drew him.
Okey, I just saw a pic of some fish on the train, was an advertisment or sth... that day I didn´t know what to draw and just drew fish 
Fantasy: The sky grew dark as the acid's chemical clawed its way through my veins. I could no longer feel the beach's sand beneath me as the waves began to violently crash and break upon the sand. I witnessed as the seas churned and the skies ruptured, great beasts ascended upon Earth. I feared that Humanity could only tremble in fear as the monsters would gorge on our species.I lit a cigerette and smiled as the Elder Ones have finally returned.
Realistic: This drawing really pissed me off because it was once again a stupid skull. So I decided to spruce it up and add some color. Since I love monster creation, I figured I could add some cheezy story to give it a little "Oomph".

The Governor resisted the urge to throw off his eye patch and give his empty socket a good scratch- his wound was itching like crazy. He had to act fast, his daughter would start disintegrating soon. He tried to take a step forward and stumbled, confused at his sudden sluggishness. It was then he remembered what she had done...He tried to scream but couldn't- he no longer had a mouth. Michonne hadn't just poked him in the eye...She had turned him into...a Peep.
The real story: I like Peeps. I also like to turn them into my favorite characters- some of which happen to be from The Walking Dead.
