Olympics by 3wyl Olympics by 3wyl
I made a resolution (of sorts) to upload a piece a month, so here is my piece for February. I cut it close again, but I hope you all enjoy it.

I titled this Olympics, but the event here was actually the Paralympics of 2012. With the Sochi 2014, I thought I'd upload a similar piece.

I apologise for the overexposure, but it was a really sunny day that day. :paranoid:

Post-Processing
Increased Saturation
Increased Contrast
Decreased Brightness

Oh, you went to the Paralympics! :D What events did you see there?

The perspective is really cool; I love the way the curve of the arena looks. It's strange that the row just in front of you looks quite empty though! Did it fill up throughout the day?

Indeed I did! :la:

I cannot remember, but it was a track race of sorts.

There were a fair number of empty seats. People came and went, really.. but it was quite packed! :D

Sounds cool! I wish I'd been able to see inside the arena; it looks great. :D Although I guess with track races, you can't always see that much, even if you're pretty close to the action.

It's pretty big, that's for sure!

Yeah, true. :hmm:

It's better on TV in some ways. ^^;

 featuring this for :iconevery-photo: due to the colors, the angle in which the photograph was taken, and the overall bright ambience. Well done.

:paranoid: if you decreased the brightness and it still is so bright, I wonder about the original. Very sunny day indeed. :XD:

This is another nice shot :) Both in angle and view and the day looks quite the bright one! Although I wonder what you were doing while everyone else was watching the event :)

And thank you for stating the post-processing. It further helps appreciate the work and know what you did.

Thank you. I was shooting while everyone was watching, though it was more of a family thing, really. Those high up in the stands couldn't see much of things.

Indeed. I've yet to go back on my old pieces and do it there, but I've been doing it for my recent ones.

Thanks for the comment.

You are very welcome  I do understand and at times (I myself) don't really enjoying watching. I mean there is little to see as you stated.

And I wonder if you will get the time to do so - if possible, good enough!

It does depend at the end of the day. The tickets were cheap because we were right at the back.

But I guess that is also a statement, not a story :tears:

I think it's wonderful.  The composition of this shot really leads the eye.  I really wish I could have gone to one of these events (Olympics or Paralympics) but money and time didnt allow.  Thanks for sharing.

No problem ;).

I would have loved to see the sprinting and perhaps the football as it fascinates me how non and partially sighted players can be so god at the sport.

Then again, it looks pretty cool on TV. In some ways, it's better to watch it at home.

There is some truth in that, watching sport at home indies have a comfort and convenience factor but how often does the Olympics come to Britian?  I guess both have their perks.

Well if they have one in France or somewhere like that in the future we can still go to that I feel. A friend of mine was a volunteer in the olympic village and he really enjoyed it.  I wish I knew more about these opportunities, I really should look online more.

That's very true! A neighbouring country would be great.. though it'd be very expensive, I think?

Ooh, nice! Yes, there were many volunteering spots open. I was in 6th form when there were volunteering spots, and I could have gone, but the process was a lengthy one. :hmm:

I like the perspective here soo much!
it's a good thing You diodn't rotate the picture
looks very dynamic as it is now
looking at all the people,
I get the impression that as the distance grows,
they kind of 'turn into' a very colorful scarf :D
the overexposure in not a problem here,
not at all.

p.s.
Don't reveal the bad points of your photos
as sometimes your viewers may simply not notice them.
By mentioning them at the very beginning
you may affect others' perception of Your works
sometimes in a bad way...
it's just a suggestion though :)

Hmm.. I never really did think to rotate the piece. I thought it was fine as it is.. which is rare for me, I guess. :D

Yes, something like that! One doesn't really make out features, as such.

I will have to bear that in mind! :D
